About the Role:


The Technical Writer will be responsible for supporting the development and drafting of Australian Standards and other types of documents across a wide range of subject areas.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop content for draft Australian Standards and other documents across all project stages
  • Have accountability for the working draft
  • Develop drafts in consultation with technical experts
  • Interpret verbal and written technical content to draft in a way that is appropriate for the intended audience
  • Ensure that the structure, content, and language is in line with Standards Australia's Guides, Procedures, and House Style
  • Address any feedback provided by Standards Australia Publishing Services team
  • Lead the Drafting Team in the review and resolution of Public Comments on the working draft
  • Collaborate with committee members to facilitate discussions and manage technical issues
  • Work effectively with Standards Australia Project Managers and Publishing Services team to develop high-quality documents and escalate unresolved issues
  • Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timeframes and scope parameters as per Standards Australia's project management methodology
  • Develop the drafting schedule in consultation with the Project Manager and the Technical Writer

About You:


We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Writer with a university degree or other relevant qualification, minimum 3 years' experience in technical writing, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
