Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join our team as a professional communicator to convey complex information in the form of marketing material and tender responses.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of documents across our business areas, working closely with stakeholders to determine the clearest and most logical way to present technical content for maximum reader comprehension.

This role plays a pivotal part in developing our tender responses, involving analysis of tender requirements, content development, bid coherence and compliance, and ensuring timely submission of quality proposals to our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement the bid strategy throughout the bid process, including content development, win themes, bid presentation, and comprehensive written responses
  • Interpret verbal and written technical content to guide drafting responses suitable for the intended audience
  • Source and compile non-technical content, including company information, CVs, and certification requirements
  • Foster relationships with our Bid Team by responding to comments, messages, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • Review proposal documents, editing, grammar, and spelling prior to submission
  • Stay updated on industry trends, platform updates, and best practices to maintain fresh and relevant content
  • Maintain awareness of developing practices and their applicability to your role
  • Identify and report issues and risks associated with your work
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of organisational methods, processes, reporting, procedures, and standards
  • Assist in creating graphic elements for bid responses
About You
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in technical bid writing
  • Effective communication of complex information clearly, concisely, and accurately
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively
  • An eye for detail, commitment to delivering exceptional content, and meeting deadlines
  • Able to manage workload, demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm, and a great work ethic
  • A creative and strategic thinker with empathy, excellent people skills, and strong writing abilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of marketing and communications, particularly writing, email marketing, social media, and graphic design
  • Experience with MS Office and Adobe Suite
  • Tertiary qualifications in journalism, writing, marketing, business, or relevant disciplines
Requirements:
  • Australian citizenship
  • Eligibility to hold and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
