Forensic Psychologist

This is a specialist position within Corrections Victoria, seeking experienced psychologists to join its multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will work on complex cases with individuals who have histories of violent and sexual offending, contributing to reducing reoffending and making the community safer.

We are looking for highly skilled professionals to build their reputation in a growing field. You will be part of a collaborative team that drives the future of forensic intervention in Victoria. The role offers opportunities for professional development, including clinical scholarship, research programs, and study leave opportunities.

The primary responsibilities include delivering best-practice forensic interventions in a correctional environment, working within the Risk-Needs-Responsivity model. Key tasks include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments, including risk assessments
  • Undertaking clinical interviews to determine appropriate treatment pathways
  • Implementing treatment interventions employing evidence-based assessment tools
  • Delivering treatment programs involving individual and group sessions
  • Preparing treatment plans, treatment reports, and risk assessment reports for internal and external stakeholders

To be successful in this role, you must hold or be eligible for registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. A current driver's license is also required.

This is an ongoing full-time position with flexibility for career planning due to applications being open throughout the year.
