A competitive salary of $80,000 (gross) per annum + super ensures that you are fairly compensated for your hard work and dedication.


Job Description

In this full-time role, you will be responsible for organizing and coordinating services for conferences, events, functions, banquets, and seminars at Sofitel Brisbane Central. Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Promoting conferences and events to potential customers
  2. Responding to enquiries and providing costing regarding conferences and events
  3. Meting with clients to discuss their needs, conduct site inspections, and outline package options
  4. Regular client contact and correspondence to ensure successful coordination of the event
  5. Preparing event orders, action plans, and other relevant paperwork to effectively communicate client needs
  6. Arranging and coordinating services, such as conference facilities, catering, signage, displays, audiovisual equipment, accommodation, transport, and social events for conference and events participants
  7. Organizing registration of conference and events groups and participants
  8. Maximizing conference and event space revenue by negotiating with clients to determine the type and costs of services to be provided within budget
  9. Understanding revenue budgets, forecasts, and what business can be regarded as confirmed
  10. Overseeing work by contractors associated with the conference or event to ensure services are delivered in accordance with agreement
  11. Maintaining high standards in presentation, consistency, accuracy, and attention to detail with all responsibilities

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma or at least three years equivalent experience in a similar position
  • Experience in leading others and developing a high-performing team
  • Highly motivated and driven to succeed
  • Excellent collaboration skills and an ability to work independently and unsupervised
  • Guest-focused and committed to providing exceptional service at all times
  • Highly responsible and reliable, achieving tasks efficiently, accurately, and promptly
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
