About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Learning & Development Manager to join our team in a newly created position. Reporting to the General Manager of Human Resources, and working closely with the Group People & Culture Team, the L&D Manager will focus on providing competency development, delivery, and implementation of training content that will enhance the skills, knowledge, and effectiveness of our workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Relationships with key stakeholders, including site leaders, workplace trainers, Quality Assurance, and Workplace Health & Safety.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis by engaging with key stakeholders to identify training requirements.
  • Coordinate Corporate Leadership Programs for Northern leaders, ensuring the effective development of our frontline leaders.
  • Review and Update Site Induction and Training Programs to achieve consistent and engaging learning experiences.
  • Centralize and Consolidate Northern Task Descriptions in line with Group guidelines and approval processes.
  • Collaborate with the Northern Safety Manager and site WHSOs to ensure tasks are categorized by risk.
  • Ensure Risk Assessments and Work Instructions are reviewed at least every five years and updated as necessary.
  • Ensure Training Outputs Align with Group Training Systems and strategic objectives.
  • Oversee Graduate and Cadet Programs, ensuring each graduate completes a program composed of varying rotations with successful mentoring and support mechanisms.
  • Measure and Report on the Impact of L&D Objectives and initiatives, using data to inform future strategies and continuously improving our learning offerings.
  • Collaborate with Sites and Group to ensure efficient and accurate use of the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Ensure Sites Maintain Accurate Employee Training Records, including items delivered by external providers.
  • Support Sites and Group with the development, maintenance, and usage of site-based skills matrixes.
  • Support Site Leadership Teams with the creation and implementation of employee development plans that comprise of both internal and external development opportunities.
  • Create or Outsource Learning Materials as required (e.g. e-learning content).
  • Oversee the Northern Traineeship and Apprenticeship Programs.
  • Travel to Northern Processing Plants, Feedlots, and Cold Stores across Queensland and New South Wales to support L&D initiatives.
