We are seeking a highly skilled Development Engineer to join our Engineering Delivery West team at Ipswich City Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in evaluating development applications and formulating engineering policies that ensure safe, sustainable, and innovative developments in our city.

Your primary focus will be on reviewing engineering documentation, requirements, and construction standards to achieve best practice outcomes. You will also perform audit inspections, surveillance, and quality control of civil engineering works associated with development activities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  1. A degree in Civil Engineering, leading to eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia
  2. A current Queensland C class driver's licence
  3. A General Construction Induction card
  4. Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills
  5. Knowledge and appreciation of the long-term goals of Council and a commitment to customer satisfaction and the enhancement of Council's public image
  6. Belief in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership

A pre-employment medical will be required for this role, including drug and alcohol testing.

About the Benefits

This is a permanent full-time position classified at Level 6 with a salary commencing at $100,533.00 and superannuation of up to 12.5%.
