About the Role

TasNetworks is seeking a strategic Portfolio Manager to lead our non-network portfolio.

  • Oversee and continuously improve TasNetworks' non-network project portfolio.
  • Manage enterprise portfolio services, including the enterprise value and prioritisation framework.
  • Work with key portfolio leaders to build and maintain a prioritised rolling 5-year program plan for the non-network portfolio.
  • Align budgets, regulatory allowance, and capacity planning to the program of work to achieve long-term business objectives.
  • Monitor portfolio health and address risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide insights and advice to senior leaders on planning and prioritisation and support investment decisions with clear, data-driven advice aligned to strategy.
  • Drive collaboration across the business for aligned delivery.
About You

We're looking for a strategic thinker and collaborative leader who can bring structure, transparency, and alignment to a dynamic and diverse portfolio. To thrive in this role, you'll have:

  • A proven ability to influence and build effective relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of program and project lifecycle management and enterprise governance.
  • Experience leading through others, rather than owning individual projects directly.
  • Confidence to challenge constructively and work cross-functionally to solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A collaborative approach to leadership with the ability to uplift capability across your team and the business.
Highly Regarded Experience And Qualifications

We are looking for:

  • A proven people leader with a focus on achieving great outcomes in partnership with your team and stakeholders.
  • Over 10 years' experience with at least 5 years in portfolio management, investment planning or similar areas.
  • Tertiary qualifications, ideally in digital, commercial, or business disciplines (or equivalent experience).
  • Formal project or program management certifications.
  • Experience working in the energy sector and/or a regulated business environment.
