We are seeking a highly motivated and competitive candidate for a PhD scholarship opportunity funded by the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health (Forensicare) to examine the efficacy of regional forensic mental health teams across Victoria.

Job Description:

This fixed-term, full-time position at Alphington, Victoria offers a stipend of $40,000 per annum for three years. The successful applicant will be involved in investigating improved care continuity and coordination, diversion of people from the criminal justice system, reduced demand for costly and restrictive forensic mental health beds, collegial capability and capacity building, supported consumer recovery, and positive community perceptions of regional forensic mental health services.

About You:
  • You have a Bachelor's degree with Honours or a research master's degree in psychological sciences, health sciences, population and global health, or relevant industry experience with a First Class Honours average grade of 80-100 or equivalent.
  • You meet the entry requirements for the relevant Higher Degree by Research at Swinburne University of Technology.
  • You have the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative manner.
  • You possess problem-solving and organisational capacities with the ability to manage task deadlines.
