About the Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and competitive researcher to join our team at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Victoria.
Job Summary
This PhD scholarship opportunity is funded by Forensicare for a project examining the efficacy of regional forensic mental health teams in Victoria. The successful candidate will investigate improved care continuity and coordination, diversion of people from the criminal justice system, reduced demand for costly and restrictive forensic mental health beds, and positive community perceptions of the regional services.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor degree honours and/or a research master's degree in psychological sciences, health sciences, population and global health, or relevant industry experience with a First Class Honours (average grade 80-100) or equivalent.
- Meet the entry requirements for the relevant Higher Degree by Research at Swinburne University of Technology.
- The capacity to work both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative manner.
- Problem solving and organisational capacities with the ability to manage task deadlines.
About the Scholarship
The scholarship provides a stipend of $40,000 p.a. for 3 years, allowing the successful applicant to undertake research that supports the research agenda of the project. This includes delivering recommendations of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System and working collaboratively with Forensicare.
