EOI - Academic Sessional Staff

We are seeking experienced academics to join our team as sessional staff members. The successful candidates will have a passion for teaching and subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas: Health and Physical Education, Primary Teaching, Science, and Practicum Supervision. Sessional academic staff in Secondary Teacher Education across all subject areas and in postgraduate study in education are also invited to express their interest.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct tutorials/lectures to the standard of the School, preparing lesson plans and facilitating informed group discussions to enhance student engagement.
- Consult with students on readings, weekly topics, and upcoming assessments.
- Assist with assessment administration, including marking, entering results, and providing feedback to students as required.
- Attend meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
- Identify students at risk through thorough tutorial attendance recording.
- Support the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University.
- Hold a minimum of an undergraduate qualification and prior teaching experience at the tertiary level with a sound understanding of pedagogical and/or adult learning principles.
- Demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Be able to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes, including online delivery.
- Have a demonstrated ability in developing resources/curriculum documents and criteria-based assessment tasks.
- Be able to incorporate technology into teaching and learning.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to foster high levels of collegiality and empathize with students.
- Proven ability to assess priority of tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a busy education environment.
