The School of Medicine at The University of Notre Dame Australia is seeking expressions of interest from registered medical practitioners and professionals in related fields who have a passion for teaching. Key Responsibilities- Conduct teaching, tutorials, workshops, and lectures to the standard of the Faculty, including preparation and facilitating group discussions.
- Consult with students on learning and assessment.
- Participate in assessment activities, including marking and providing feedback.
- Attend meetings as required by the Course Coordinator.
- Perform other duties as identified by the line manager.
- Comply with policies and procedures in all aspects of work and conduct.
- Undertake professional development as arranged by the School.
- Hold a College Fellowship, a trainee position in a Fellowship Program, or a PhD in a relevant area.
- A medical degree registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, plus at least one of the following:
- A College Fellowship or progress towards (e.g. FRACP, FRACGP, etc) and/or PhD in a field aligned with the research and teaching activities of the School.
- Experience in collaborative-based learning environments.
- Skilled at facilitating small groups, discussions, and evoking thoughts and questions from others.
- A high level of interest in medical education and experience in teaching in a health context.
- A keen interest in maintaining currency in scholarship and professional practice in the relevant discipline.
- Ability to incorporate technology into teaching and learning.
- Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to assess priority of tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines.
- Evidence of a high level of pastoral care to students.
- Proven ability to work as an effective member of a team.
- Experience working within a university or teaching environment.
