Job Summary

The City of Concord's Police Department is seeking a highly motivated and customer-service oriented individual to serve as a Community Service Officer. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about providing exceptional service to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various routine law enforcement-related tasks that do not require the authority of a sworn police officer.
  • Answer multiple telephone lines and respond to a wide variety of questions from the public.
  • Receive, classify, and record complaints.
  • Issue citations and tow vehicles.
  • Receive and maintain security of property seized as evidence.
  • Use various manuals and computer systems to access, input, and retrieve information.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of related work experience, including public contact and preferably including experience in a law enforcement or related agency.
  • California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions according to existing laws, regulations, and policies.
