We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Intake Officer to join our team at Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service Inc. (AWAHS). As a key member of our Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) team, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining the intake referral process, providing administrative and triage support, and building strong relationships with clients, community services, and government agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain the intake referral process to ensure seamless coordination of services and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Act as Duty Officer, providing administrative and triage support for client referrals, and serving as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of clients, community services, and government agencies to ensure holistic and integrated care.
- Work closely with local community and partner services to enhance service coordination, client access, and equity, and motivate community participation.
- Establish and maintain strong links and professional partnerships between relevant staff and local agencies.
- Demonstrated experience and well-developed skills in delivering assessment and referral services to individuals, families, and communities with diverse and complex cultural, emotional, and social needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and established links with the local community.
- Ability to relate well to staff and clients, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software applications.
- Willingness and commitment to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Applicants must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent (NB: Race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW).
