Role Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Homeless Services Coordinator to assist individuals at risk of homelessness in Coburg North, VIC.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with clients, advocating on their behalf to access support services and establish meaningful community connections. Key responsibilities include assessing housing needs, exploring options, and providing case management services.

This is a permanent, full-time position reporting to the Team Leader. The salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.

Your Responsibilities
  • Assess immediate and long-term housing needs for service users at risk of homelessness upon release on bail.
  • Explore and connect service users to suitable housing options and advocate on their behalf to access support services.
  • Support clients in developing individual case plans, monitoring progress, and reviewing goals.
  • Provide outreach and case management services to clients referred from Court Services Victoria, utilizing a trauma-informed model of care.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including Court Services Victoria, THM, and head-leasing providers.
Your Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work or a related community service field (degree level preferred but significant experience considered).
  • A current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
  • A current First Aid Certificate.
  • A valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and respond to the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk.
  • Knowledge of the homelessness sector, including role, context, principles, philosophies, policies, regulations, and legislation.
  • Understanding of homelessness models, approaches, theories, and practices when dealing with clients.

The estimated salary for this role is around $65,000-$70,000 per annum, based on the SCHADS Award Level 5 and location.
