Senior Legal Counsel Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of the Risk & Legal department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our legal position is protected in all contracts.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of commercial and contract law, with experience in superannuation and trust law. You will have a proven ability to negotiate, draft, and advise on complex commercial agreements, especially IT-related contracts.

  • Lead the review, negotiation, drafting, and advising on a broad range of commercial contracts.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders and support commercial decision-making.
  • Resolve complex contractual disputes and liaise with external law firms and vendors as needed.
  • Identify knowledge gaps across the business and create training opportunities to build legal capability.

About You

You will have:

  • Deep expertise in commercial and contract law.
  • Proven ability to negotiate, draft, and advise on complex commercial agreements.
  • Strong advocacy and communication skills.
  • Commercial, risk-based mindset with sound judgment and strategic decision-making aligned to our objectives.
  • Minimum seven years' experience in a law firm or in-house legal function, with leadership capability and mentoring experience.
