Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Order Entry Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This is a hybrid role that involves entering prescriptions and refills into the pharmacy system with speed and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enter new and refill prescriptions into the pharmacy system
  • Resolve customers' questions and requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of client services, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with government and department policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
  • Familiarize yourself with government regulations, including HIPAA
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to established policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned; job duties may vary depending on business needs
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications required by state regulations
  • Minimum one year experience working as a pharmacy technician (long-term care pharmacy preferred)
  • Knowledge of brand name/generic medications
  • Experience with alpha-numeric data entry
  • Able to read and correct key prescriptions accurately
  • Basic math computation skills
  • Knowledge of SIG codes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • English language proficiency
  • Able to work at a moderate speed and maintain attention to detail
Working Conditions
  • Sit for seven to ten hours per day, occasional standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, walking
  • Extended hours may be required
  • Lift up to 30 pounds
