Pharmacy Technician Role Summary

This pharmacy technician position involves entering prescriptions and refills into the pharmacy system with speed and accuracy. The successful candidate will be responsive and courteous when addressing customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enter new and refill prescriptions into the pharmacy system with precision.
  • Address customer inquiries and requests in a professional manner.
  • Contribute to evaluating and improving client services, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with government regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Ensure safety policies and procedures are consistently practiced.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Pharmacy technician licenses/certifications are necessary as per state regulations and practice location.
  • A minimum of one (1) year working experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in long-term care, is required.
  • Familiarity with brand name/generic medications is essential.
  • Experience with alpha-numeric data entry is necessary.
  • Basic math computation skills are required.
  • Knowledge of SIG codes is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is expected.
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language is necessary.
  • Good organization and attention to detail are crucial.
Work Environment:
  • May involve sitting or standing for extended periods.
  • Occasional need to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, or walk.
  • Extended hours may be necessary.
  • Lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds may be required.
