Job Title: Fleet Operations Coordinator

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional to oversee and coordinate the operations of our fleet of vehicles. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and co-ordinating the pickup and delivery of consignments in order to ensure effective and efficient utilisation of the fleet on a minimum cost basis and as per customer's requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and control activities associated with the arrival, departure, loading and unloading of all fleet
  • Determine trip feasibility based on fleet, schedule, maintenance and drivers' availability and/or operational limitations
  • Investigate and take corrective action where incidents occur that pose a potential risk to the reputation of the company and or achievement of set KPI's relating to delivery performance

The ideal candidate will possess excellent planning abilities, high attention to detail, a commitment to complying with safety practices, proven ability to build excellent working relationships with the team and external customers, integrity, trustworthiness, professionalism and a customer-centric approach to problem-solving.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Min 2 years' experience in the industrial sector, preferably logistics related and experience in a fleet supervisory role
  • Wharf experience highly regarded
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A strong understanding of supply chain management and logistics principles

The successful candidate will also have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations and a commitment to achieving excellence in all aspects of their work.
