About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Director of Manufacturing to lead our proprietary electrodes manufacturing operations.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and scaling of our manufacturing capabilities using powder metallurgy technology.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for setting up the manufacturing line from scratch and leading the operational and strategic aspects of our manufacturing facility.

This position is based in our R&D and manufacturing facility in Melbourne, Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and oversee the manufacturing process for electrodes, from design to production, ensuring adherence to quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Set up and scale the manufacturing operations, including designing and optimizing manufacturing lines for semi-automatic production.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D and commercial teams based in different locations, to align manufacturing activities with business objectives.
  4. Address operational challenges related to the distributed nature of our teams, implementing strategies to optimize efficiency and communication.
  5. Develop and implement strategies for materials procurement, handling of hazardous materials, and compliance with hydrogen-related regulations.
  6. Provide strategic leadership and guidance on manufacturing operations, identifying opportunities for process improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  2. Extensive experience in manufacturing operations, with a background in powdered technology and advanced materials.
  3. Proven track record of setting up manufacturing lines from scratch and scaling manufacturing operations.
  4. Strong understanding of powdered technology, material science, and mechanical design principles.
  5. Experience with semi-automatic manufacturing processes and hands-on experience on the production floor.
  6. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  7. Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  8. Ability to navigate operational challenges in a distributed team environment and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
