Superannuation and Financial Services Regulatory Specialist

We are seeking an experienced lawyer to join our Funds Super & Financial Services (FSF) team in Sydney.
As a member of this team, you will work closely with partners and lawyers in Melbourne and across our offices, gaining exposure to complex regulatory work.
Our clients include Australia's leading superannuation funds, wealth platforms, insurers, banks, and financial service providers.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with regulatory projects and transformation initiatives
- Responding to investigations and prosecutions by authorities like APRA and ASIC
- Advising on superannuation fund mergers and acquisitions
- Collaborating with our M&A team on financial transactions
- Providing guidance on regulatory obligations such as licensing and disclosure
- Negotiating commercial agreements, including outsourcing and distribution
This is a permanent, full-time role that offers flexible working arrangements to suit your needs.
RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you should have:
- Experience advising superannuation or financial services clients on regulatory matters
- Private practice or in-house experience in superannuation/financial services law
- A desire to specialize in this area
- Strong academic record, legal analysis, writing, and communication skills
- Motivation to learn, grow, and mentor others
