
Financial Services Regulatory Specialist

You will be a key member of our team in Sydney, with opportunities to work with lawyers across our offices.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting clients with their most critical regulatory and transformation projects;
- Assisting clients to respond to regulatory investigations and prosecutions, including APRA and ASIC proceedings;
- Advising on superannuation fund mergers and acquisitions;
- Collaborating with our M&A team on transactions in the financial services area;
- Advising clients on their financial services regulatory obligations, including licensing, disclosure, and conduct obligations;
- Preparing and negotiating commercial agreements, such as outsourcing and distribution arrangements.
- Experience advising superannuation and/or other financial services clients (wealth platforms, life insurers, and/or banks) on regulatory matters, including core experience advising on the SIS Act, APRA Prudential Standards, Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act, and the ASIC Act;
- Private practice or in-house legal experience working in a specialist superannuation and/or financial services regulatory team would be valued;
- A desire to specialize in superannuation and financial services regulatory work;
- Excellent academics and strong legal analysis, writing, and communication skills;
- A desire to learn, grow, network, and mentor others.
