About the Role

Eku Energy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our energy markets and origination efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving our business forward and ensuring we achieve our goals in the energy market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate, negotiate, and manage commercial revenue offtakes and swap/derivative contracts for energy assets.
  • Drive and provide expertise on the assessment of trading outcomes and asset performance to continually improve and adjust trading strategies and protocols.
  • Provide guidance on and ensure best-in-market positions on trading service contracts, LTSA, supply agreements, warranties, and guarantees.
  • Work with the business to define the risk framework/appetite for trading products.
  • Define hedging strategy, both at asset level and portfolio level.
  • Develop and manage regional BESS OEM relationships and provide technology expertise and input in region.
  • Provide strategic input and guidance on new market entry.
  • Present to Investment Committee on relevant aspects of key projects and support presentation to Board as required.
  • Represent Eku Energy on asset-specific Risk and Trading Committees to drive best-for-asset outcomes and learnings.
  • Contribute to regional Technology, Market, and Trading (TMT) resourcing, priorities, and business strategy.
  • Guide, input, and prioritize analytics and quantitative capabilities, tools, and activities.
  • Manage, mentor, train, and upskill technical, commercial, and analytical team members.
  • Regular travel for in-person meetings and working with the Global TMT team.
Requirements
  • Experience with energy asset investment, revenue contracting, and trading across renewable and/or non-renewable assets.
  • Experience in originating and negotiating commercial agreements and revenue contracts for energy assets, preferably BESS.
  • A level of technical knowledge across generation assets, ideally BESS.
  • Experience in managing a team, senior stakeholders, and reporting.
  • Well-developed commercial and contract management business acumen.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian energy market.
