Eku Energy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our energy markets and origination efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving our business forward and ensuring we achieve our goals in the energy market.
Key Responsibilities- Originate, negotiate, and manage commercial revenue offtakes and swap/derivative contracts for our energy assets.
- Develop and implement trading strategies to maximize asset and portfolio objectives.
- Provide guidance on trading service contracts, LTSA, supply agreements, warranties, and guarantees to ensure we maintain best-in-market positions.
- Define and implement the risk framework and appetite for trading products.
- Develop and manage regional BESS OEM relationships and provide technology expertise and input in region.
- Provide strategic input and guidance on new market entry and present to the Investment Committee on relevant aspects of key projects.
- Represent Eku Energy on asset-specific Risk and Trading Committees to drive best-for-asset outcomes and learnings.
- Contribute to regional Technology, Market, and Trading (TMT) resourcing, priorities, and business strategy.
- Guide, input, and prioritize analytics and quantitative capabilities, tools, and activities.
- Manage, mentor, train, and upskill technical, commercial, and analytical team members.
- Prepare reporting for the Eku company Board, asset-specific Boards, project lenders, and other stakeholders.
- Experience with energy asset investment, revenue contracting, and trading across renewable and/or non-renewable assets.
- Experience in originating and negotiating commercial agreements and revenue contracts for energy assets, preferably BESS.
- A level of technical knowledge across generation assets, ideally BESS.
- Experience in managing a team, senior stakeholders, and reporting.
- Well-developed commercial and contract management business acumen.
- Strong understanding of the Australian energy market.
