Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Role

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) specialist to join our dynamic team on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidate will support the national safety team at a hospital level, working across two facilities: Westmead and Strathfield Private.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Embedding and maintaining an effective OHS management system, templates, and documentation.
  • Conducting thorough incident investigations and implementing solutions to minimise future risks.
  • Risk assessments, site audits, and workplace safety training to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining effective OHS practices to promote a safe working environment.
  • Preparing and presenting OHS performance reports for internal stakeholders.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in WH&S (Minimum of a Cert IV in WH&S).
  • Experience in OHS, preferably within the healthcare industry or a large organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with teams at all levels.
  • A proactive and highly organised approach to managing multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent planning, time management, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Full Australian work rights, a current Police Check & proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
