Job Title: Compliance Risk Specialist

Avant Mutual Group is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Risk Analyst to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert support in risk management practices, including identifying operational risks and controls, and implementing key control improvements to enhance business efficiency.

  • Facilitating periodic risk and control self-assessments and supporting control owners to improve control design and operating effectiveness.
  • Assisting in identifying and capturing incidents and issues, including performing risk assessments, root cause analysis and developing action plans.
  • Tracking and managing open action items and providing guidance and support to address them.
  • Maintaining vendor and contracts registers, and policies register.
  • Supporting the preparation of risk reporting, governance forums and analysis.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance, Law or associated discipline.
  • 1-2 years plus financial services experience (preferably Insurance).
  • Understanding of Operational Risk Management Frameworks and Risk Management principles.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience.
  • Financial acumen and commercial thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively.
  • Intermediate Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
