Housing Solutions Advisor

We are seeking a Housing Solutions Advisor to join our team in Burnie. The successful applicant will provide expert advice and support to individuals and families experiencing housing disadvantage.

The role involves providing information and advice, addressing immediate needs, completing applications for housing assistance, and coaching and supporting service users to develop and progress an initial response or action plan for keeping or finding housing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments in line with an Advantaged Thinking practice approach to effectively tailor the response.
  • Provide brief interventions, including short-term planning and goal setting, to grow skills and capabilities and maximise housing outcomes.
  • Develop and leverage relationships across the service system, community, business, and education sectors to maximise outcomes for people accessing Housing Connect.
  • Provide up-to-date information on housing options, community resources, and referral points.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to program planning activities and consultative processes.
Requirements:
  • Expertise in conducting assessments and providing brief interventions.
  • Ability to develop and leverage relationships across sectors.
  • Knowledge of housing information, community resources, and referral points.
  • Understanding of human development and relevant theoretical and conceptual frameworks.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and high-level written and verbal communication skills.
