Job Title: Workplace Relations Specialist

We are seeking a proactive individual who can navigate the intricacies of workplace investigation processes and foster a harmonious work environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex employee relations matters, supporting best-practice approaches to workplace investigations and issue resolution.

Job Description

As a Workplace Relations Specialist, you will be responsible for leading the resolution of complex employee relations matters, interpreting and applying enterprise agreements, awards, and employment legislation to ensure compliance and fairness.

You will drive enterprise bargaining processes, contribute to the development and renewal of EBAs for national consistency, conduct and oversee workplace investigations, and coach and empower P&C team members in managing employee relations cases confidently and effectively.

Key responsibilities include designing and delivering engaging training sessions on investigations, disciplinary procedures, and respectful workplace behaviours, fostering strong, collaborative relationships with leaders, internal stakeholders, and external partners, and maintaining detailed, accurate records of ER matters and identifying opportunities for improving systems and frameworks.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, industrial instruments, and best-practice ER processes.
  • Experience working in large, complex or values-driven organisations (NFP, healthcare, government, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting or managing sensitive and complex workplace investigations.
  • The ability to interpret and communicate legislation, policies, and procedures clearly to varied audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build credibility and trust with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
