Job Overview

The role of a debtor portfolio manager is pivotal in the efficient collection of outstanding fees. As a professional representative, you will engage with clients to discuss individual circumstances and negotiate payment plans, ensuring timely resolution of accounts.

Directly reporting to the Credit Manager, you will be responsible for managing your assigned debtor portfolio, working closely with internal stakeholders across all levels. This includes partners and executive leadership, fostering strong relationships and facilitating open communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain an accurate record of collection activities and all communications, including those with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Engage professionally with clients in accordance with firm policies, maintaining a high level of customer service and dispute resolution abilities.
  • Meet with partners to address outstanding accounts, making recommendations as needed, and escalating accounts appropriately.
  • Work with Partners to ensure credit practices align with firm standards and policies.
  • Contribute to ad hoc credit and administrative tasks as required.
  • Ensure strict compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

This role can be based in Adelaide, with consideration given to other locations for the right candidate.

  • Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution abilities, with the capacity to build rapport and influence decision-making.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, taking direction and following instructions accurately.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach.
Desirable Skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills – Excel and Outlook in particular.
  • Experience in a similar role or background, with a strong understanding of professional services.
