Job Title: Principal Project Officer

Join The State Of Queensland in a challenging and rewarding role as a Principal Project Officer. As a key member of the Biosecurity Queensland team, you will be responsible for the successful implementation and evaluation of Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce (FAST) projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply project management skills and knowledge to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop, track, and deliver project scope of works, ensuring accuracy and progress.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure successful implementation of FAST Work Plans.
  • Provide technical advice to stakeholders on fire ant self-management and suppression.
  • Support the Manager, Policy in governance oversight, operational logistics, and data management.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or relevant transferable experience.
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate with stakeholders, including government agencies and community groups.
  • Strong project management skills, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
