Regional Operations Manager for Mining Sector

We are seeking a Regional Field Service Manager to join our team in Welshpool, responsible for setting goals and objectives for team members.

The role involves planning, organizing, and leading the effective and efficient operations of the Service team, ensuring policies, practices, and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers, and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and executing the placement of Service Technicians within the Regional allocated area, considering skill set, location, and hours worked;
  • Ensuring all tasks on-site or in the workshop are performed safely, adhering to Critical Risk Standards;
  • Conducting regular Toolbox Talks to communicate potential safety improvements, alerts, and review of incidents and their outcomes and actions;
  • Managing the selection of new/replacement Service Technicians – actively engaged in the selection process to ensure qualified applicants are selected who will contribute well to overall team performance;
  • Creating a high level of team spirit and engagement by creating an open and trusting environment where teamwork and cooperation are valued and encouraged;
  • Managing client relationship issues that arise, maintaining a 'customer-centric' focus, and providing solutions to customers' needs;
  • Scheduling regular client visits to develop and maintain a close relationship to understand customer issues with equipment downtime, reliability problems, and approaches for improving lifecycle costs via preventative and productive maintenance;
  • Continuously coaching as part of your leadership style and ensuring the ongoing technical and professional development of direct reports.

This is a key leadership role that requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, and experience supervising a site service team within the mining sector using an ERP system.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience supervising a site service team within the mining sector and using an ERP system, preferably Epicor;
  • Experience in a fabrication and manufacturing environment;
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings;
  • Demonstrated Industry and Product knowledge of mineral processing in the mining Sector;
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Ability to plan and work effectively and efficiently with minimum supervision and set priorities for own personal goals;
  • Unrestricted Australian Working rights at the time of application.
