Senior Laboratory Manager

Ampol Limited, a leading Australian fuel brand, is seeking an experienced Senior Laboratory Manager to join our team in New South Wales.
As a Senior Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of laboratory professionals to ensure the production and management of finished products meet the required specifications in a safe and efficient manner.
You will have a strong focus on safety, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle high-pressure work situations and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
This role offers a competitive salary of $120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.

Key responsibilities:
- Lead a team of laboratory professionals to complete sampling and testing required by Ampol
- Manage and motivate team performance by developing, appraising, coaching, and disciplining team members
- Coordinate day-to-day laboratory work schedules to ensure timely and accurate completion
- Monitor performance and advise on results outside specification or off-target
- Issue test reports and authorise release of products in accordance with specifications
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in science or a bachelor's degree in science (Chemistry desirable)
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Chemist leading or coordinating teams or laboratory operations
- Strong focus on safety and technical/professional problem-solving skills
- Practical exposure to emergency response situations
