Laboratory Director

As a key strategic leader, you will be instrumental in developing in-house analytical testing capability at Slade Health. In consultation with senior leadership, you will establish market trends and priorities, and deliver on a program of works to provide a superior stability offering of compounded medicines to customers.
The role requires overseeing the operation of the SLH Laboratory, ensuring compliance to procedures and GMP requirements. You will also oversee the qualification of laboratory equipment and manage, train, and support scientists and laboratory technicians. Additionally, you will develop and validate physical and chemical methods for analysis, design experimental work, prepare protocols and reports, and investigate non-conformances and deviations.
This permanent full-time position offers a dynamic and supportive work environment, allowing you to play an instrumental role in defining the ongoing program of works. With a commute to work that avoids CBD traffic, you can enjoy a better work-life balance while working on challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee operation of SLH Laboratory ensuring compliance to procedures and GMP requirement
- Oversee qualification of laboratory equipment
- Manage, train and support to scientists and laboratory technicians
- Develop and validation of physical and chemical methods for analysis of: Monoclonal antibodies and antibody drug conjugates Antibiotics Small chemical drug molecules Drug infusion devices
- Designing and conducting required experimental work
- Preparation of protocols and reports as per SLH and ICH guidelines
- Investigation of non-conformances, OOSs and deviations as required.
- Management of stability study program
Suitable Candidate:
We are seeking a commercially focused individual with a Ph.D., experience in various analytical techniques, including HPLC, CZE, ELISA, UV/VIS, cell-based assays, and physical analysis techniques. You will have prior experience in managing laboratories and teams, and be familiar with cGMP requirements. With excellent prioritization skills, you will be able to achieve desired outcomes within challenging deadlines. The estimated salary for this role is around $120,000-$150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
