We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Microbiology Laboratory Manager to lead and oversee departmental testing and operations at Laverty Pathology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment in the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development, validation, and implementation of protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.">
  • Monitor and report on monthly financial KPIs, ensuring optimal laboratory performance and support for clinical needs.">
  • Prepare and submit recommendations for capital expenditure to drive business growth and improvement.">
  • Oversight of departmental testing, development, and validation of methods to maintain current scientific knowledge and best practices.">
  • Maintain all work practices and procedures to ensure compliance with NATA/TGA/NPACC and company systems.">
  • Proactively drive quality and workflow improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency and productivity.">

About You

">

To succeed in this role, you will need to meet the following essential requirements:

">
  • ">
  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent qualification.">
  • 6 years' experience as a senior scientist in a related field with exposure across pathology.">
  • Minimum 2 years in a senior supervisory role with management of rosters, KPIs, turnaround times, and performance management.">
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff.">
  • Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities.">
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in laboratory practices.">
  • Ability to foster a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork and knowledge sharing.">
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.">

Salary
