About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to join our research team at Domain, a market leader in economic research and analysis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing property price forecasting models, conducting cutting-edge research on housing markets, and producing insightful reports that guide key decision-making in the property industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage forecasting models and housing market indicators to provide accurate and timely insights.
  • Conduct in-depth research, collecting and interpreting economic, statistical, and demographic data to inform business decisions.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and briefings on market trends, policy impacts, and key economic announcements to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with our PR, content, product, and data science teams to shape messaging and drive thought leadership.
  • Translate complex data and research findings into consumable insights for various stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners.
About You

You are an analytical and forward-thinking economist with a knack for storytelling, able to translate complex analysis into easy-to-understand insights. You have a strong background in economic or data analysis and statistics, with experience developing economic models and forecasting techniques. You are proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working with diverse stakeholders to deliver timely and impactful economic insights.

What We're Looking For
  • A Master's degree or first-class honours in economics, econometrics, property economics, data science, or a related field.
  • Direct experience in economic or data analysis and statistics, with a strong understanding of Australian economic data frameworks and experience with ABS and national accounts.
  • Proven experience developing economic models and forecasting techniques, with a strong ability to work autonomously on complex projects.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting research findings to stakeholders.
