About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Economist at NSW Treasury, a leading government agency in Australia. As an Economist, you will be part of a highly collaborative team that provides advice on economic policy and strategy to the government.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the economic merit and risks of policy proposals and communicate findings in high-quality briefs.
  • Work on longer-term research to help build the economic evidence base in priority areas.
  • Engage with senior team-members and stakeholders to provide advice on economic policy and strategy.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in economics, econometrics, or statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience providing advice in government, economic policy, or regulation is desirable.
  • Knowledge of public economics and/or cost-benefit analysis is an advantage.
