Open Cut Coal Mine Operations Specialist

The role involves delivering best practice mining engineering services and support to a fleet of draglines in an open cut coal mine.
Key responsibilities include:
- Short to medium term design, planning and/or scheduling within an open cut operation.
- Dragline experience is required.
- Driving continuous improvement and commitment to health, safety and environmental standards are essential.
- Interpersonal and communication skills are also necessary.
Applicants must have a tertiary qualification in mining engineering with at least 3 years post graduate experience gained in an open cut environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Mining Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Designing and planning short to medium term operations within the open cut coal mine.
- Collaborating with the production team to communicate mine plans and schedules to ensure that the production processes are optimised to continuously increase operational efficiency.
- Driving best practices through their department and into the business.
Applicants must possess a strong understanding of mine scheduling software and have experience working with draglines in an open cut environment. They must also demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
