Our department is focused on supporting veterans and their families through contemporary transition support initiatives. The Veteran Support Office strives to provide nationally consistent service delivery, educating and assisting veterans with access to transition supports.

The Veteran Support Officer - Operations will work as part of a national team, ensuring that the reputation of DVA remains of good standing. This role involves working closely with Team Leaders, external support elements, and other areas within DVA to achieve operational service delivery requirements.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide high-quality, personalised service to current and former veterans in line with DVA's Cultural Vision and national policies.
  • Offer advice and interpretation on complex aspects of legislation to clients and colleagues.
  • Develop partnerships with key stakeholders to enhance service delivery to the veteran community.
  • Represent DVA at seminars, training sessions, and other events.
  • Assist with training and continuous improvement processes.

**Essential Requirements:**

  • Ability to travel and work outside standard hours (if required).
  • Willingness to work on Defence bases and/or Veterans' and Families' Hubs.
  • A current Australian driver's licence.

**Eligibility:

  • Must be an Australian citizen.
  • May require a pre-engagement screening check for external applicants.
