About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Market Analyst to join our team at D'Arcy Weil, a pioneering energy company dedicated to developing cutting-edge renewable energy solutions. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in analysing energy market dynamics, evaluating the performance of energy storage and VPP assets, and providing insights that support the optimisation of operations and the development of new business models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Analysis: Analyse energy market trends, pricing, and regulatory changes impacting BESS and VPP operations.
  • Forecasting: Develop models to forecast market opportunities for energy storage and VPP solutions.
  • Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing BESS and VPP assets.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct data analysis to support optimisation of energy trading and grid services.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align market analysis with strategic objectives.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports and presentations for senior management on market insights and opportunities.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks and opportunities related to market conditions and regulatory changes.
  • Business Development: Support business development activities by providing market intelligence and analytics.
  • Competitor Analysis: Track competitor activities and benchmark performance against market peers.
  • Product Development: Assist in the development of new products and services within the BESS and VPP portfolios.
  • Strategic Planning: Provide input into strategic planning processes based on market research findings.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with industry stakeholders to gather insights and stay updated on market developments.
  • Data Visualisation: Develop dashboards and tools to visualise data and market trends effectively.
  • Financial Modelling: Support the financial modelling and valuation of energy storage and VPP projects.
  • Scenario Analysis: Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of different market conditions on asset performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in energy market analysis, preferably with BESS and VPP focus.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Australian National Electricity Market (NEM) and regulatory environment.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with experience in data modelling.
  • Tools: Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, or similar software.
  • Communication: Ability to interpret complex market data and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Energy Industry: Experience with energy trading, optimisation, and asset management.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly to stakeholders.
