About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Portfolio Analyst to join our team at Shell Energy. As a key member of our Strategy and Portfolio Development team, you will play a critical role in supporting the corporate growth and sustainability of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Modelling: Develop and maintain existing python and SQL based market models to forecast electricity market trends and inform our portfolio development strategies.
  • Industry Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with industry reports and summarise key insights related to energy markets to inform our business decisions.
  • Model Development: Build custom models to answer specific questions and provide insights into market trends and risks.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Interrogate the results of full market modelling to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and document and present findings to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Relevant Experience: 3+ years of experience in a quantitative field, or a research higher degree in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of Electricity Markets: Good knowledge of electricity markets, preferably the National Electricity Market (NEM).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in python and SQL, with experience in data visualisation and ability to build custom models.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to summarise and communicate complex findings and insights in written, visual, or verbal format.
