End-of-Life Care Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of End-of-Life Care Specialist at Bear Cottage.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing high-quality care and support to children with progressive, life-limiting illnesses and their families.

The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of paediatric palliative care principles and be familiar with the different areas where volunteers are required to assist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand the principles of paediatric palliative care and the children's hospice setting.
  • Recruit, manage, train, and supervise volunteers to ensure they have a clear understanding of the needs of Bear Cottage and the role of the volunteer in this setting.
  • Develop and implement effective workplace training programs for volunteers.
  • Proven organisation and time management skills to effectively coordinate volunteer activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with volunteers, staff, and families.
