
Palliative Care Advocate

This position is critical in supporting the Palliative Care Service by working collaboratively with clinicians, community-based service providers, and patient families to ensure respectful and culturally appropriate end-of-life care for Aboriginal people.
The successful applicant will act as a conduit for Aboriginal patients with palliative care needs in both hospital and community settings. They will lead the development of culturally safe environments for Aboriginal patients and their families within a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities include understanding issues affecting Aboriginal people in relation to grief and loss, social and emotional wellbeing, and leading the development of culturally safe environments. The ideal candidate should also hold a current NSW Drivers Licence.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of Aboriginal patients and their families. Your expertise and knowledge will be instrumental in ensuring that palliative care services are accessible and equitable for all.
Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with clinicians, community-based service providers, and patient families to provide respectful and culturally appropriate care.
- Understand and address issues affecting Aboriginal people in relation to grief and loss, social and emotional wellbeing.
- Hold a current NSW Drivers Licence.
