Job Summary:

Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pastry Production Supervisor to join our culinary team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising and supporting bread operation production and delivery for all related outlets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Executive Pastry Chef to oversee bread operation production and delivery.
  • Assist the Pastry Chef with menu preparations, ensuring adequate supplies are available for service.
  • Demonstrate exceptional service skills, ensuring that guests receive personalized service and achieve the "Essence of Pleasure".
  • Maintain strict hygiene and safety procedures, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Lead ambassadors by setting a positive example and training junior staff on bread making knowledge and skills.
  • Monitor productivity and provide support to colleagues as needed.
  • Perform tasks in a timely manner, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Assist other departments as required, maintaining good working relationships.
  • Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues promptly.
  • Contribute to culinary revenue through effective food cost control.

Qualifications:

  • Qualification in Commercial Cookery.
  • 2-3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Working understanding of food safety standards and HACCP.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
