Job Title: Sous Chef

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Sofitel. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supervising and supporting bread operation production and delivery for all related outlets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in supervising and supporting bread operation production and delivery.
  • Work closely with the Pastry Chef to prepare menus and ensure adequate supplies are available for service.
  • Demonstrate a passion for excellence in serving guests with flair and professionalism.
  • Ensure all ambassadors are following procedures according to departmental and hotel policies.
  • Liaise with ambassadors regarding menu availability and changes.
  • Train junior ambassadors on bread making knowledge and skills.
  • Maintain strict hygiene and safety procedures.
  • Ensure personalized service and achieve the "Essence of Pleasure".
  • Embody the art of French hospitality through a "can do" attitude.
  • Perform tasks within a timely manner.
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of Sofitel Brand Standards.
  • Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Commercial Cookery.
  • Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail.
  • 2-3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
  • A genuine passion for gastronomy.
  • Working understanding of food safety standards and HACCP.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
