Position Overview:

This role presents a unique opportunity to be part of a Cardiology department that is significantly enhancing its services to establish itself as a premier cardiac center and a key referral hub for the Central Queensland region.

Located in Rockhampton, our Cardiology Service employs a multidisciplinary approach to deliver comprehensive specialist care throughout the patient journey. Our dedicated team offers a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic services for individuals with suspected or confirmed cardiac issues, including Echocardiography, Stress Imaging, Cardiac Computed Tomography, Heart Failure Management, Cardiac Rehabilitation, and Chest Pain Evaluation Services. With recent substantial investments in infrastructure, the Cardiology Department is in the process of planning the construction of a cutting-edge Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, expanding the Cardiac Investigation Unit, and increasing inpatient bed capacity.

Your Responsibilities:

As a Non-Invasive Cardiologist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and evidence-based cardiology services within the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Services (CQHHS). Your duties will include:

  • Providing care in the Coronary Care Unit, Cardiology Ward, Cardiac Investigation Unit, and Outpatient Clinics.
  • Participating in the on-call and weekend roster.
  • Contributing to the planning and execution of Non-Invasive Cardiology services.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you should possess:
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) – Specialist Cardiologist (or equivalent).
  • Training in Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging with accreditation in Level 2 Adult Echocardiography as per CSANZ standards (or equivalent).
  • Active involvement in a Continuing Professional Development Program (CPD).
  • Current echocardiography volumes that demonstrate Level 2 CSANZ competency.
  • Clinical and academic research skills and experience.
  • Qualifications in Cardiac CT and/or Cardiac MRI are highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary:
Total remuneration value of $514,421 p.a. (L27) includes:
  • A salary range of $204,206 - $258,910 p.a. (L18 - L24, L25 - L27)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
