Position Overview:

This role presents a unique opportunity to be part of a Cardiology unit that is experiencing significant growth and enhancement of services, aiming to establish itself as a premier cardiac center and a key referral hub for the Central Queensland region.

Located in Rockhampton, the Cardiology Service employs a multidisciplinary approach to deliver cohesive specialist care throughout the patient journey. Our dedicated Cardiology team offers a variety of diagnostic and procedural services for individuals with suspected or confirmed cardiac issues, including but not limited to Echocardiography, Stress Imaging, Cardiac Computed Tomography, Heart Failure Services, Cardiac Rehabilitation Services, and Chest Pain Assessment Services. Furthermore, with a substantial investment in infrastructure, the Cardiology Department is currently in the planning stages for a new, cutting-edge Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, an expansion of the Cardiac Investigation Unit, and an increase in inpatient bed capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Non-Invasive Cardiologist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and value-driven care, alongside evidence-based Cardiology services within the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Services (CQHHS). Your work will span across the Coronary Care Unit, Cardiology Ward, Cardiac Investigation Unit, and Outpatient Clinics, with expectations to participate in the on-call and weekend roster. You will play a vital role in all phases of Non-Invasive Cardiology service planning and execution.

Qualifications:

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) – Specialist Cardiologist (or equivalent).
  • Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging subspecialty training with accreditation in Level 2 Adult Echocardiography as per CSANZ requirements (or equivalent).
  • Active involvement in a Continuing Professional Development Program (CPD).
  • Current minimum echocardiography volumes demonstrating Level 2 CSANZ competency.
  • Demonstrated clinical and academic research skills and experience.
  • Qualifications in Cardiac CT and/or Cardiac MRI are highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Structure:
Total remuneration value of $514,421 p.a. (L27) includes:

  • A salary range between $204,206 - $258,910 p.a. (L18 - L24, L25 - L27)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
