Financial Operations Coordinator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Coordinator to join our team at ThompsonCook. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for managing the entire life cycle of a matter, including reviewing and approving setup of new clients and matter, administering rates, and supporting secretaries and lawyers with billing queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve setup of new clients and matter, and administer changes to client groups, clients, and matter names, contact names, and addresses as required.
- Administer rates and special rates at the client and matter level.
- Support secretaries and lawyers with billing queries, posting bills, and cancelling bills as needed.
- Run the month-end period rollover within the practice management system.
- Conduct other reporting and analysis as required.
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience in billings, secretary, matter, or legal assistant roles in a similar industry.
- Knowledge of legal accounting procedures would be looked upon favourably.
- Experience working with large-scale practice management systems, such as Aderant.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to build rapport with all levels of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and work both autonomously and as a team.
