Job Summary

A Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) initiatives across various San Marcos Infrastructure construction projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Work Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems (WHSMS) to ensure compliance;
  • Foster collaboration and provide guidance on OHS implementation processes at site level;
  • Prepare and submit reports on WHS performance and offer advice to Site Managers on due diligence obligations;
  • Identify WHS training needs for onsite staff;
  • Assist in evaluating subcontractor documentation and new contractor pack submissions;
  • Create and maintain Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for new and ongoing projects;
  • Conduct workplace inspections and internal audits to monitor compliance with incident reporting and investigation procedures;
  • Contribute to enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of the overall WHS function.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field;
  • White Card, trade, or scaffold ticket;
  • First Aid Certificate;
  • Civil and Commercial construction experience to train trades and Site Managers;
  • Valid driver's licence;
  • Experience in a similar role within the construction industry;
  • Extensive knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety Management Systems, relevant Acts, Regulations, Codes, Australian Standards, and Guidance Materials;
  • High proficiency in MS Office suite, including report writing ability.
