Job Overview:

The role of an HSE Specialist is a multifaceted position designed to provide expert health and safety guidance to clients and internal teams. The incumbent will possess in-depth knowledge of HSEQ-related legislation, and be self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a rapidly growing organization.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough reviews of contractor HSEQ documentation and processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop and enhance health and safety review protocols as necessitated by changing legislation
  • Perform desktop audits of health and safety programs and/or other HSE documentation
  • Coordinate various product development initiatives
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on health and safety matters for prospective and existing clients
  • Analyze processes and propose ideas for continuous improvement
  • Support and participate in the organization's Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 requirements
  • Other tasks and projects as directed by management
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or related field from an accredited university and/or equivalent work experience
Skills and Qualifications:
  • In-depth understanding of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, related state statutes/regulations, and ISO/Management Systems standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
  • Demonstrated personal initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Desire to assume increasing levels of leadership responsibility
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical and Safety Requirements
  • Sitting, bending, standing, walking, typing and/or speaking at least 8 hours per day
  • Able to regularly lift and move up to 15 lbs
