Senior Health Safety and Environmental Advisor

We are seeking a Senior Health Safety and Environmental Advisor for one of our clients, a major and growing player in Australia's renewable energy sector. This is a critical role for the success of their projects, and you'll have a chance to make a tangible difference on the ground, actively contributing to the country's energy transition.

The Role

As a pragmatic and stand-alone professional, you'll be responsible for identifying, assessing, and resolving health, safety, and environmental risks across our project sites and workplaces.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Leading incident investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Providing expert advice and coaching to employees and contractors to foster a strong safety culture.
  • Monitoring and enforcing contractor compliance with safety standards.
  • Supporting emergency response planning and crisis management.
  • Collaborating with project and construction teams to proactively resolve safety concerns.
  • Travelling regularly to project sites to provide hands-on support.
About You

We are looking for a professional who excels at identifying and solving problems and is prepared to work autonomously to ensure safety in the field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety advisory roles in the workplace and on project sites.
  • Experience in the renewable energy (or construction) sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, codes of practice, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in conducting inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • High-level problem-solving, analytic, and communication skills.
  • Possession of a valid White Card is essential.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
