Collections Officer

We're seeking a Collections Officer to join our client's team in the Melbourne CBD location. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring that customers reduce their debts and find suitable solutions tailored to their financial situation.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6-12 months recent Call Centre or Phone-Based Customer Service experience, with a strong ability to empathise, understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions. Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and written, are also essential.
About the Role:
- Contact clients via phone, email, and SMS to assist with outstanding payments
- Work out payment plans based on customer situations and needs
- Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and client interactions
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing disputes and discrepancies
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain positive client relationships
What You Need:
- A minimum of 6-12 months recent Call Centre or Phone-Based Customer Service experience
- Exceptional active listening skills
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences
- A natural conversationalist with a strong ability to empathise, understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions
- Problem-solving skills, comfortable thinking on your feet while dealing with vulnerable customers
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and written
- Great typing skills and ability to navigate multiple systems at once
- AU or NZ Citizenship, Permanent Residency or 2 years remaining on a valid working visa (as this is a permanent position)
- Available to work 37.5 hours full-time each week
